Customers Get Critical Information from Any Browser-enabled Handheld Device

Delanco, NJ...Jevic Transportation today unveiled another industry first—the ability to track freight, get transits, and determine mileage from any browser supported hand-held device.

“Now our customers can use their BlackBerry®, or any other browser-supported phone, to trace freight, determine mileage, or get transit times between cities,” says David H. Gorman, president and CEO of Jevic Transportation Inc. “Everyone is on the move these days and that certainly includes logistics professionals. Now we have made it possible for them to access critical shipping information when away from the office or PC,” he states.

Using a hand-held device, like a BlackBerry®, iPhone, or Palm®, customers can, literally, find this information right at their fingertips. By clicking the online browser feature and typing in http://www.jevic.com, a screen appears that has two words on it: “Transit” and “Trace”. All the customer has to do is click on one or the other and they are automatically sent to the appropriate link at jevic.com

The “transit” link gives you transit days and mileage between points. The “trace” page requires a Jevic pro number be entered to display the origin, destination, and delivery information.
