Fuel SurchargeThe fuel surcharge is adjusted on Tuesday and is based on the US Department of Energy’s National Average Diesel Fuel Index in effect Monday at 4 P.M. The Fuel Surcharge for the Period May 13, 2008 through May 19, 2008 will be 35.0% of the LTL linehaul charges and 66.0% of the TL linehaul charges for those customers subject to the JEVC 100 series Rules or subsequent issues, based upon the DOE National Average fuel price being $4.331/gallon.

LTL - When the DOE fuel Index exceeds $3.00 per gallon, the fuel surcharge continues to increase 0.5% for every five-cent increase in fuel prices. TL - When the DOE fuel Index exceeds $3.00 per gallon, the fuel surcharge continues to increase 1% for every five-cent increase in fuel prices. For purposes of calculating fuel surcharge, TL is defined as any shipment weighing 25,000 pounds or occupying 25 linear feet or more.
